  11. Cover the pie, and seal well, brush with egg and place in a preheated oven and bake.

Carefully remove the dish from the oven as it will be very hot. In a medium, oven-proof pot, saute the onion and carrot in a little olive oil until soft and translucent. Cover the pot and place in the oven.
