Steps to make Rishna's Kheema:
- Heat some oil in pad with a lid and fry the dry ingredients (cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf) for 1 minute
- Add the chopped onion and stir for 30 seconds
- Add the ginger, garlic and green chilli and sauté on a low heat until the onions start to soften
- Add the chilli powder, curry powder, turmeric, garam masala and a generous pinch of salt and sauté for a few more minutes
- Add the meat and stir for 2 minutes
- Dice the potatoes and add to the pan
- Add the tomatoes, tomato puree and enough water to just cover the meat
- Cover and cook on a low heat for 15 to 20 minutes
- Add the spinach and stir through until wilted
- Check the meat is cooked and add salt if required. If there's still excess water, uncover and the boil water off
