Liver Casserole is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. Liver Casserole is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look fantastic.

Transfer everything to a casserole dish and add the tomatoes, Worcestershire Sauce, salt, and pepper. Cut liver into serving size pieces and dredge in flour. Lightly brown liver on each side in bacon fat. In the same pan brown onions, carrots and potatoes.

The ingredients needed to make Liver Casserole:
  1. Prepare 250 grams bacon
  2. Prepare 3 tbsp oil
  3. Get 1 onion sliced
  4. Get 500 grams Liver,(lamb or beef) cut into 3 inch pieces
  5. Make ready 4 oz plain flour
  6. Take 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  7. Take 1 pints gravy
  8. Take to taste salt and pepper
  9. Take melted butter or olive oil

You can add a little more flour at this stage if you like, but it's not strictly necessary. Gently cook the flour in the oil. Saute liver, celery and onion in bacon drippings until liver is brown. Put the liver in the casserole dish along with the onions.

Steps to make Liver Casserole:
  1. Pre heatoven to 180C. Remove rind from bacon and fry until cooked, remove from pan and cut in to 2 inch pieces
  2. Add 1 tablespoon oil to pan add onion and fry gently untill golden,remove from pan
  3. Season flour with salt and pepper place in a plastic bag, add liver and shake until coated
  4. Add remaining oil to pan, shake liver to remove excess flour place in pan and seal on both sides.
  5. Meanwhile grease an ovenproof casserole, place half the bacon in casserole followed by half the onion, cover with half the potato slices season with salt and pepper add the liver.
  6. Repeat with remaining bacon and onion pour over gravy, arrange remaining potato in overlapping spiral on top, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with melted butter or olive oil
  7. Place in oven for 60 to 90 minutes until cooked through and potato top is golden (beef liver takes longer than lambs to cook)
  8. Serve with vegetable of choice (I prefer peas)
  9. Can also be Cooked in a crock pot/ slow cooker from step5, cook on low for 4 hours. N.B. Top won't go 'golden'!

Saute liver, celery and onion in bacon drippings until liver is brown. Put the liver in the casserole dish along with the onions. Mix flour, salt, pepper, mustard together and coat liver. While the noodles are getting started, heat olive oil in a large heavy skillet. Add mushrooms, and continue cooking for a few minutes, until starting to brown.
